INTERNSHIP

We offer 2-3 months internship training program for students, recent graduates or alumni of American Universities who are looking  for an internship experience in this part of Asia.

POSSIBILITY TO EARN UP TO 3 CREDITS!

The program is opened to Hong Kong Citizens as well.

The Purpose of the Internship:

Working alongside professional staff at the gallery will allow a diversity of opportunities including the completion of a current project, participation in the work of a field of your interest, as well as daily research conducive to your academic growth. This challenging internship may also require you to greet clients, prepare for exhibitions, or assist artists at the gallery or their studios.

You will experience gallery operations while continuing to pursue your academic and professional goals. Working in this profession will allow you to have a high degree of responsibility early in your career.

GALLERY MANAGER

 

Must be a Hong Kong citizen.

 

Job

 

- Drive the execution of various pre-opening and preview events. Plan and lead the Front of House activities of the gallery and other regular events including artist talks, film-books presentations and workshops-seminars.


-Manage and co-ordinate the installation/desinstallation of exhibitions at the gallery and at other exhibition sites related to the gallery.


-Develop the Artist in Resident Studio Program Plan. Manage and execute the plan to ensure the program is operated smoothly and effectively in collaboration with artists, art patrons, sponsors and interns.


-Cultivate and maintain good rapport with potential support groups, patrons and sponsors. Manage the sponsorship and patronage relations for the long term development of the organization.

-Establish and maintain the database for effective administration of stakeholder activities.


-Must be a mature and responsible person, for the daily running of fine art gallery. Responsible in making sure that the gallery is clean and ready for guests at all times, will be tasked to handle the general administration, payroll and budgeting as well as liaising with suppliers, business associates, interns as well as artists.

-Coordinate with the Marketing and Communications team in managing the social-media communication regarding all the events and activities organized by the Department


-IT savvy, Microsoft proficient and meticulous. He/she will be heavily involved in Marketing and events planning both for local and international markets and have great communication skills.

-Must be excellent sales person with a long good track record in sales.

 

You should have/be

-Degree in Arts or PR/ Marketing/Sales

-At least 4 years’ in marketing, communication and realization  of contemporary art events in Asia, with exposure in stakeholder development, planning and executing high profile events

-Interest and passion in contemporary art


-Excellent Singapore and Asian and Western contemporary art network

-Excellent communication skill in English and Chinese, particularly strong in English writing and presentation skills.
